Free Housing and Legal Counseling

The Nareb Investment Division Housing Counseling Agency has opened an office in Michigan and is ready to begin helping homeowners keep their homes.  NID-HCA is a Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved agency.  NID-HCA is offering free housing and legal counseling for Metropolitan Detroit homeowners and will host a series of town hall meetings to bring awareness about their program and sign-up participants.  The first town hall meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 6:00p.m.  – 8:00 p.m. at the Southfield Public Library located at 26300 Evergreen Road in Southfield, Mich.  Registration is encouraged for the town hall meeting.  To register participants must call (248) 351-9354.

The counseling is available for homeowners having difficulty refinancing and/or maintaining their monthly mortgage due to:

•Property Value Decline/Can't Refinance
•Increased Mortgage Payment
•Loss of Income/Job
•Foreclosure
•Situation beyond your control
•Adjustable Rate Mortgage
•Bankruptcy

In addition to the series of town hall meetings, NID-HCA of Michigan has housing clinic hours on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday's by appointment only.  The NID-HCA Michigan office is located at 24725 W. 12 Mile Road, Suite 110 in Southfield, Michigan.

      "We are excited to open the NID-HCA office in Michigan," says Certified Counselor Cheryl R. Dixon. "There is such a need to help the homeowners here keep their homes and we are glad to be a part of the solution."
