November Interpretive Events at Oakwoods Metropark

"Tadpoles," Saturday, November 7 at 10 a.m., Nature Center. Children, ages 2 to 5, can have fun experiencing nature, playing games, making crafts and more. "Thanksgiving Bowls" will be this month's theme. Fee: $4 per child. Pre-registration required.
"Nature NUTS," Saturday, November 7 at 10 a.m., Nature Center. Children, ages 6 to 10, can enjoy experiencing nature, playing games, making crafts and more. "Day of the Deer" will be this month's theme. Fee: $4 per child. Pre-registration required.
"Owl Festival," Saturday, November 7 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Nature Center. Join us as we celebrate everything owl. We will have games, crafts, presentations, owl prowls, and even a live owl to highlight our awesome nocturnal residents. Fee: $4 per person. Pre-registration is required; please call to reserve a time for the owl prowl.
"Homeschool Monday," Monday, November 9 at 10 a.m., Nature Center. "The Tree Cycle" will be this month's theme. Fee: $3 per person. Pre-registration required.
"Mommy & Me," Monday, November 9 at 10 a.m., Nature Center. Moms and their toddlers can spend quality time with your little one while introducing them to nature through stories, crafts, and hands-on activities. Fee: $2 per person. Pre-registration required.
"Whitetail Widows' Day," Saturday, November 14 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Nature Center. For anyone alone during opening day of deer season, this program will focus on the white-tailed deer with snacks and crafts to help brighten the day. Fee: $3 per person. Pre-registration required.
"Webelos Geology Pin," Saturday, November 21 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Nature Center. Webelo scouts will cover the requirements for this pin. Fee: $3 per Scout. Pre-registration required.
"Ready for Winter Walk," Saturday, November 2 at 10 a.m., Nature Center. Get ready for winter by finding out how nature prepares for this cold, snowy season. Enjoy hot chocolate in our "up-north" room afterwards. Fee: $2 per person. Pre-registration required.

Individuals needing assistance in order to participate in these programs should contact the interpretive center at least 72 hours prior to the program. A vehicle entry permit is required to enter any Metropark and is only $20 annually for regular admission, $12 annually for seniors or $4 daily.
