WWJ-TV accepts information from cultural or community groups and non-profit organizations about events and activities open to the public. This information may be utilized on our website, as part of a Community Calendar that airs on one of our stations, or as a possible topic for a community affairs program segment.
Non-profit organizations can submit PSA scripts, press releases or information online at publicaffairs@wwjtv.com or publicaffairs@wkbdtv.com. If the information is regarding an event, we prefer four weeks notice for consideration as a program segment and a minimum of two weeks notice for a website submission.
Non-profit organizations can also produce their own PSA's for broadcast. We prefer PSA's on Beta SP or DVC-Pro, but will consider a PSA on DVD provided it meets our broadcast standards. We will accept :15 and :30 spots.
We prefer PSA's with a no end date or a shelf-life of several months before they must be taken off the air. However, if the PSA is promoting an event that fits with one of our local or corporate initiatives, we would consider accepting something with a shorter run.
PSA's must be received a minimum of six weeks before the end date to allow for station branding.
PSA's generally air in the morning or overnight. We do not guarantee airtime, nor do we provide reports of any kind regarding what aired.
