The Turkey Brigade is back...and they need your help.
For the past few years the students and families of the Redford Karate School have sponsored the Turkey Brigade, a holiday project to help families in need by providing a complete Thanksgiving meal to as many needy families as they can.
Last year the Turkey Brigade was able to feed just short of 70 families. The meal they provided included a turkey with roasting pan, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, yams, cranberry sauce, rolls, juice, and some kind of dessert.
"Our students dress in their martial arts uniforms and deliver these meals to our local families in need," said Michele Korff, the chairperson of the Turkey Brigade. "It always serves as such an amazing experience for them. We rely completely on donations, and as I am sure you are aware, the economy has made giving tough for many and the need for assistance has greatly increased."
In order to make this year's Turkey Brigade a bigger success than last year, the students are hoping for additional donations...either food or financial. If you can help them help others, please contact the committee: click here
"These kids work very hard and we are so proud of their dedication," said Korff. WWJ-TV is proud of them too.
