One-on-One Interview with Host Carol Cain Is The Governor's First Since the State Budget Crisis
Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm was the sole guest on Michigan Matters, Saturday Nov 7. WWJ-TV's weekly program covers issues and current affairs affecting the state. It was the governor's first in-depth interview with any TV program since the budget crisis erupted in Lansing resulting in the near-shutdown of state operations.
A series of controversial vetoes made by the governor has also triggered a volley of charges and countercharges between her and the legislature, particularly Republican lawmakers. This situation was covered in the exclusive interview, as well as the Michigan Film Incentive debate, the future of alternative energy in Michigan, the governor's response to accusations she reacted too slowly to deal with the state's crumbling economy, and more.
"Michigan Matters" features award-winning host Carol Cain, and is seen weekly on WWJ-TV, Saturday mornings at 11:00am immediately following "The CBS Saturday Early Show."
