60 Minutes provides a blend of hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news. The show has won more Emmy Awards than any other news program. Its total of 78 awards includes the Lifetime Achievement Emmy given to Hewitt and the correspondents in Sept. 2003. 

60 Minutes has also been the recipient of virtually every other broadcast journalism award, plus 11 Peabody Awards for exceptional television broadcasting.

This is the 40th season for the show.
